Toward Maximum Independence Awarded Three-Year CARF Accreditation

San Diego, CA - December, 16th 2010 - CARF International announced that Toward Maximum Independence, Inc. (TMI) has been accredited for a period of three years (2010-2013) for the following programs:

- Employment Services: Community Employment Services: Job Development
- Employment Services: Community Employment Services: Job Supports
- Employment Services: Community Employment Services: Job Site Training

All of these programs and services are offered by TMI under the auspices of their Employment Solutions, Supported Employment division. TMI also received a 3-year accreditation after their last survey which was in 2007. The Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) is an international accrediting body.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization's substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.

Toward Maximum Independence is a nonprofit organization with offices in San Diego, Escondido, Temecula and Lakeport, Calfiornia. Founded in 1981, TMI has been providing employment services, community living, and foster care services to people with developmental and other disabilities for many years. CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
