STATE LEGISLATORS NEED TO BE CONTACTED TO STOP FURTHER CUTS TO SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES!
Word is out in Sacramento that the State is not collecting enough money to pay for everything in the current budget. Even though about a half a billion dollars has been cut from services for people with developmental disabilities in the last two years, the state is planning on making even more cuts. This is intolerable.
Many agencies have no place left to cut, and additional funding reductions might result in loss of services and possibly even agency closures across the state. This must not happen. Legislators are in their home district offices during this recess, so contact your legislator, go to meet with him or her, or call the legislative office and let them know these cuts must be stopped.
