Supported Living

While there are many people who are successful living in their own home with only a few hours a week of “come in” support, others may need much more. Supported Living Services provides up to 24 hours a day of one-on-one support to adults that live in their own homes. Services include skills training in the same areas as Independent Living (money management, meal planning/preparation, shopping, accessing community resources, safety, household management, parenting skills, community membership, and health management) as well as assistance with staying safe in the community and physical care. Serves as flexible and tailored to each individual’s needs. Supports may consist of a ‘paid neighbor’ that is someone that lives close by and comes in on a daily basis to provide support, multiple staff with different shifts, or live-in staff. Supported Living Services can also change as the person being supported changes, either because they have learned new skills, have a unpaid support that is providing assistance, or their needs have increased.
