We would like to congratulate Toward Maximum Independence (TMI) Independent Living client Arturo “Ben” Benavent on being awarded a $1,000.00 scholarship through the Kevin Starks Scholarship Program. Ben is a huge animal lover and is currently working toward his Associates Degree at City College in order to become a Veterinary Technician. Ben receives assistance from College 2 Career, a program funded by San Diego Regional center for adults with disabilities looking to further their education and promote independence. He works with educational coaches, Disability Support Programs and Services (DSPS) and instructors throughout the semester to assist him with the tools he needs to succeed. Way to go, Ben!
