Abel has been working at Chuck E. Cheese’s for 17 years and was recently awarded Employee of the Month! In 2000, Chuck E. Cheese’s was so passionate about the services Toward Maximum Independence (TMI) provides for people with developmental disabilities that they carved out a job just for Abel. He loves his work and takes pride in busing tables, providing customer service to children and parents, and in maintaining the soda fountain area. As part of TMI’s Tailored Day Services program, Abel receives Job Coaching services and transportation to and from work by TMI.
It wasn’t long after Abel started that his enthusiasm for his job carried over into other areas of Chuck E. Cheese’s. Many years ago, Abel started participating in the birthday celebrations for the children by clapping and singing along. Abel’s mother was a singer and it is apparent her love of music lives on through Abel’s positive spirit and the true joy that he gets from participating in the singing. Abel has the ability to make everyone feel special on their special day and has become a familiar and welcome face to the many children who visit Chuck E. Cheese’s in National City, CA.
TMI is very proud to serve such a passionate and dedicated individual! The impact working at Chuck E. Cheese’s has had on Abel’s life is undeniable and the best part is Abel also gets to make a difference in the lives of so many children. A win-win for all! Congratulations Abel!
