Team Up for Inclusion: Frankie V with iHeartRadio Joins TMI for Our 45th Anniversary Gala!

At Toward Maximum Independence (TMI), our mission centers on driving real inclusion and support for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We are beyond excited to announce a powerful new media partnership with iHeartRadio and fan-favorite local radio host, Frankie V, from Channel 93.3 to help us advance our mission!

A familiar voice and face in San Diego with over 20 years in the local radio market, Frankie V reaches listeners on over 90 stations nationwide, weekday mornings on Channel 93.3 and CBS 8. Beyond his broadcast career, Frankie’s commitment to serving others is deeply personal. Raised in a household of special-needs educators—including his mother, who has dedicated over 50 years to special education—he developed a lifelong passion for supporting individuals with disabilities. From working as a teacher’s assistant at a camp for youth with special needs during his college summers to recently co-founding the V Family Foundation to support families affected by rare diseases and special needs, Frankie’s roots in this community run deep.


Through this partnership, Frankie is using his platform to champion a cause near to his heart, helping us shine a spotlight on our vital programs—including our urgent need for dedicated Resource Parents for youth with special needs across San Diego County.

A Shared Mission: Every Child Deserves a Safe, Loving Home

For youth with special needs, finding a safe, nurturing, and stable environment is life-changing. Through TMI’s licensed Resource Family Agency (RFA), we match youth with compassionate individuals and families who can provide the specialized care, love, and encouragement they need to thrive.


Thanks to Frankie V and iHeartRadio, we are expanding our reach to connect with San Diegans who feel called to make a lifelong difference as Resource Parents.


Beyond Resource Family placements, this partnership spreads awareness about TMI’s full spectrum of services—including Family Support Services, Employment Solutions, and Community Living Services that transform the lives of individuals with IDD throughout San Diego, Riverside, and Imperial Counties.

The celebration of this partnership doesn't stop on the airwaves. We are honored that Frankie will serve as our Master of Ceremonies our upcoming 45th Anniversary Gala: The Championship Season! It's going to be an unforgettable night filled with community, inspiration, delicious food, and high-energy FUNdraising.

  • Location: Frontwave Arena, 3475 Hero Dr, Oceanside, CA 92056

  • Keynote Speaker: Sam Horn, former MLB player & Host of "What is Your Pregame"

  • Attire: "Wear Your Favorite Team Gear!" Skip the formal wear and sport your favorite team's jersey, hat, or colors as we cheer on a winning cause together.
