World Foster Day, observed annually on May 31st, is a day to celebrate the incredible individuals who open their hearts and homes to children in need. At Toward Maximum Independence (TMI), we witness the profound impact Resource/Foster Parents have on the lives of young people every single day. As we recognize this vital community, we also want to shine a light on a critical need: more loving Resource/Foster families are desperately needed right here in San Diego County.

As a licensed Resource Family Agency (Foster Family Agency) (RFA License #370603102), we have children in San Diego County who are waiting for someone like you. They need a caring adult to offer them a safe haven, a listening ear, and a loving home. Attend our upcoming training sessions to get started:

  • Part 1: July 10, 2025, 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM

  • Part 2: July 17, 2025, 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM

  • Part 3: July 24, 2025, 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM


The deadline to sign up is July 7th. Please note: To become an approved Resource Parent with us, you must attend all three training sessions, meet our application requirements, and reside in San Diego County.
