A Toward Maximum Independence (TMI) Independent Living client since 1997 (almost 20 years!), Scott moved into his own apartment when TMI first started services for him and it has been a pleasure ever since. Scott’s home is always nice and organized. TMI helps him with laundry, grocery shopping and household chores. Scott enjoys cooking and is always willing to learn a new recipe. He is very friendly and is known to assist his elderly neighbors when he can. Scott has also built a great relationship with the fire station across the street from his apartment complex. He visits with them every morning before he heads out to work at Southwestern College and again in the evening when he returns from work.

“It’s so nice to see how they genuinely care for him, several times I have done direct hours with him and the firemen just show up at his house to make sure he is okay or to invite him to eat with them,” said his Case Manager Patricia Figueroa.

Scott is also an honorary member of their band Rowdies and Rum (pictured above with Scott in the middle left). A big shout out to these amazing firemen for helping to make a difference in the life of this awesome guy!
