On Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2019 Toward Maximum Independence (TMI) is raising money for our Julie Casey Scholarship Fund which goes directly toward assisting our clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy. In Community Living Services, grants have helped individuals move from group homes to their own apartments, buy essential items for the transition to independence or even purchase a baby crib. In Employment Solutions, the fund has helped our clients purchase clothes for job hunting, bus passes, alarm clocks or other items necessary for employment. In Family Support Services, the fund has been used to send children to summer camp, assist with medication cost, purchase clothing at the beginning of placement and much more. Any and all donations will be put to good use and are greatly appreciated!
Giving Tuesday (#GivingTuesday) is a global day of giving celebrated the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States. To help raise awareness of charitable causes and amplify donors’ generosity, Facebook will match eligible donations up to the full match amount that are made on Facebook during Giving Tuesday.
Facebook’s match for Giving Tuesday begins at 8:00 AM Eastern Time (5:00 AM Pacific Time) on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Donations are matched dollar for dollar on a first-come, first-served basis until their total match is met. Facebook will cover all processing fees for donations made on Facebook to charitable organizations.
